What is a Pre Authorization Payment?

At the time that your order is placed a temporary authorization verifying and holding available funds is provided by your financial institution. Although authorizations are not actual charges or debits, they can reduce the available balance in your account, typically for 5-7 business days.  The exact policies and time frames are dependent on your individual bank or credit card issuer.

Many customers confuse this pre authorization as a charge.  It is not.  We do not formally charge for any item until it is shipped.  A pre-authorization is essentially a temporary hold placed by a merchant on a customer's credit card, and reserves funds for a future payment transaction.  This hold typically lasts five days, though this depends on your merchant classification code.
