How do I place an order?

Once you've found the item you wish to purchase, click the "Add To Cart" button. This will place the item in your shopping cart. When you are ready to check out, simply click the "Proceed To Checkout" button below the list of items in your Shopping Cart. Follow the online prompts that will take you through the account setup process and then submit your order. You can also checkout as a guest. 

*If you do not have a stored payment method or are using guest checkout, you will need to add a credit or debit card on the final order summary page for the Submit Order button to show.

I'm not ready to purchase right now. Can I put items in my shopping cart and come back later?

Is it safe to use my credit card?

All credit card information is encoded with strong encryption before storage.

When will my credit card be charged? only charges for orders when the order ships. When you go through the checkout process, we do have a final step that "pre-authorizes" the charge to your credit card. If this pre-authorization fails when you attempt to submit your order, you will get a billing error message that will prompt you to recheck your billing and credit card number information or enter an alternate credit card before you can actually submit the order.

How do I check the status of my order?

To view your current account information and to check on the status of your orders, click My Account at the top right portion of any page. After you enter your email address and password you will be able to view your account summary. You'll see your most recent orders and their current status, such as "Pending" or "Completed."

Why am I getting an error when entering my email address and password?

Generally, an error appears when a password doesn't match the password we have on file for that email address. Even if you have never placed an order with us, if you previously entered a password and email address, our system will "lock in" that combination. Try entering the first attempted password in the first field as if you were a "returning" customer rather than a "new" customer.

You will also receive an error if you do not have an online account set up. (The password reset link is sent as a security feature, whether an account exists or not.)

How long will it take to receive my order?

That depends on item availability and the shipping method you select. To calculate the number of days it will take to receive your order, consider the number of days it will take us to process and pack your order, plus the number of days it will take the delivery service to handle your order. The availability of each item is clearly labeled throughout the site. You'll find that many items are labeled "In Stock," which means that your order will generally be processed and ready to ship one business day after being placed.

For example, if you ordered an "In Stock" book and selected Next Day Air shipping, your total delivery time would be 2-3 business days (1 to 2 business day(s) to process, plus 1 business day of shipping time).

Larger orders may require additional processing time. The number of days required for shipping also depends on the shipping method you select.

Upon receipt of the returned items, your refund will be issued to the credit card used. How will an Advance Order item affect the rest of my order? allows you to reserve selected titles that have not yet been published. Each Advance Order item is shipped when it is released by the publisher, and in many cases, you will receive the item in a separate package on the same day you could purchase the item in a store. Advance Order items will not delay the rest of your order and will not increase your shipping cost. So, choose your shipping preference without regard to any Advance Order items that you are purchasing. There is no need to select the "ship as items become available" option.
